    1. Telegram runs but will not connect on PowerPC platforms and will require additional work.

  2. Please, consider incuding also Krita, a fantastic image editor, https://packages.debian.org/sid/krita, https://krita.org/ , and QGIS, the greatest GIS (Geographic information system) out there, https://www.qgis.org/, https://packages.debian.org/sid/qgis

    1. QGIS has been tested and will be added. Krita requires more work due to QT related display issues.

  3. Hi,
I'd like to install Fienix on a Mac mini G4/1.5, currently running Ubuntu 16.04

    https://everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_mini/specs/mac_mini_g4_1.5.html

Is it possible? Are there instructions to do this?
Thank you very much in advance!

    1. Probably; but I'm not sure what the performance will be due to the restricted max RAM. See https://fienixppc-news.blogspot.com/2019/06/stop-gap-install-for-powerpc-macs.html

    2. I've managed to install it on a 1.42 GHz G4 iBook. There were a few hurdles to overcome, specifically with missing package dependencies on mate-system-tools which is no longer available but was moved into another mate specific package (can't recall at the moment exactly what it was). I had to create and build an empty dummy package for mate-system-tools to get past this issue. However, I'm now fully running Fienix on it and I'm definitely impressed so far with the results. It's made using this old iBook fun and useful again. I'd be happy to help anyone else who wants to run Fienix on a G4 system.

    3. You're the first I've heard from who installed Fienix on a G4! Great news! Would you be able to send me a screenshot with System Monitor showing the System tab? I'd love to see it in action! ppcutopia.caseyac@gmail.com

  4. I have a 2-processor G5 Mac for MorphOS. Sadly MorphOS only uses one PPC. Will Fienix make use of both PPCs?

  5. Would it be possible to make an alternate boot image for AMCC440 or AMCC460 PowerPC processors as well?
or are these CPU options not powerful enough to run a minimal modern linux distribution?

    1. Such as those used in the A-Cube Sam systems? Fienix should run alright on Sam460 and probably on Sam440, though it may be a bit sluggish. I do not have one of these systems to test. Let me know if you have one and if you have any experience installing any other Linux based distributions, if you're willing to test.

    2. Yes, I am specifically using an ACube sam440flex (I actually have a USB3 controller installed but missing drivers :-/ along with an external USB3 SATA RAID box that acts like a 2 disk controller on the current settings )

I'd be willing to test if I can boot from a USB stick with a Linux image.

I'm currently working on a couple of other things and primarily need BTRfs and ReiserFS access (for PPC and x86 system contents) so that I can re-arrange a whole lot of data.

    1. Unfortunately I don't think Darktable will be available anytime soon. The code isn't very portable. I suggest giving RawTherapee a try.

  12. Why no support for power9 on Talos II?

    1. Power 9 is supported. I do not have the hardware to develop system-specific media or instructions, but Raptor Computing Systems have informed me that BE mode is supported, and I know of Blackbird owners who run Fienix system.

  14. Is there a way to run the 32bit version on SAM460ex based systems? Still running Ubuntu 14 and building stuff via NetBSD's pkgsrc inside linux. Man it'd be nice to have these nice uBoot systems supported again.

    1. I'm not sure if that system requires a special kernel or installer. You may be able to copy your kernel into the "Live" image (on the downloads page) and see if you can boot from it.
